Private John Alexander Gilliard, 5th Battalion Parachute Regiment, A.A.C. was killed by the Zionist extremist Stern Gang on 25 April 1946. He was one of seven soldiers killed in the attack on the Divisional Car Park in Tel Aviv. John Alexander Gilliard, aged 23 years at the time of his death, was the son of Charles and Mary Gilliard, of Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, Irish Republic. He was buried in the Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel. With copied research.
