Charles Emmerson was born in Byker, Northumberland and enlisted at Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 24 April 1915, aged 19 years. He was buried in the Bedford House Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. With copied casualty details.
