John Robinson was born in Manchester and enlisted at Horwich. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Royal Lancaster Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 7 April 1915. He was killed in action on 8 May 1915, aged 23 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was the son of Edwin and Margaret Robinson and husband of Catherine Lee (formerly Robinson), of 17 Ramsbottom Road, Horwich, Lancashire. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
