Private Charles John Shears, 6th Battalion Dorset Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 13 July 1915. Later transferred to the Royal Engineers. He died of disease on 24 July 1918 and was buried in the Cologne South Cemetery. His burial in Germany suggests he was a prisoner-of-war at the time of his death. John England was born and lived in Cranborne, Dorset and enlisted at Wimborne, Dorset. Serving with the 6th Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 21 July 1917. He was buried at the Level Crossing Cemetery, Fampoux, France. His name is commemorated on the Edmondsham War Memorial. With copied research.
