Williams Moores was born and lived in Bourton, Dorset and enlisted at Dorchester. Serving in the 1st Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, he was killed in action at the battle of La Bassee, on 13 October 1914, aged 30 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial. Also commemorated on the Bourton War Memorial and Bourton Church Memorial. With copied research including modern photographs of the Bourton War Memorial.
