Private Charles Cobb, 5th Battalion Witshire Regiment, entered the Balkan theatre of war on 30 June 1915. He was killed in action in Gallipoli on 10 August 1915, aged 18 years. His name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial; Salisbury City War Memorial and St. Paul’s Church War Memorial. He was the son of Ellen Elizabeth Cobb, of 105 Culver Street, Salisbury. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details. The two men are believed to be brothers.
