J. Bandy lived at Manton’s Gardens, Bedwyn Street, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Serving as a Private in the 2nd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, he died of disease at Deelfontein, 18 June 1900. His name is commemorated on the Boer War Memorial in Salisbury Cathedral.
