Viking Coinages: Danish East Anglia, Penny, copying Alfred the Great, ‘London’, no moneyer, elfred re (l and f retrograde), diademed bust right of curious style, rev. londonia monogram, four pellets above, cross to left, three wedges below, 1.12g/3h (cf. BMC 94; N 465; S 964). Part of rim missing at 7 o’clock, otherwise about extremely fine and lightly toned, very rare £4,000-5,000
