Seven: Captain J. Rigby, Royal Field Artillery, later King’s Liverpool Regiment

1914-15 Star (2. Lieut., R.F.A.); British War and Victory Medals (Lieut.); Defence medal; Jubilee 1935; Territorial Decoration, G.V.R., reverse inscribed ‘Captain J. Rigby, 18th September 1931’, top bar brooch with pin removed and slide ribbon bar added; Special Constabulary Medal, G.VI.R. (Inspr.); together with a caricature news cutting of Lieut. Rigby; and a quantity of photocopied documentation, including, three commission certificates, generally very fine or better (7) £140-160

Jack Rigby enlisted as a Trooper in the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry in 1909; commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery, 30 September 1914; promoted Lieutenant, 10 May 1922; transferred to 7th Battalion, King’s Liverpool Regiment, June 1924, promoted Major, September 1931; retired in April 1938, and joined the Liverpool Special Constabulary, attaining the rank of Chief Inspector.
