Company, Rhodesia 1896 reverse, no clasp; Q.S.A., 3 clasps, D.o.L., L.N., Belf.; K.S.A., 2 clasps; A.G.S. 1902-56, 1 clasp, Somaliland 1902-04; 1914 Star, with clasp; B.W.M. and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaf; G.S.M. 1918-62, 1 clasp, Iraq; French Legion of Honour, in silver, gold and enamels, all mounted in a contemporary court style; together with two named National Rifle Association silver prize medals, 58mm, both inscribed ‘N.R.A. Ashburton Shield‘ and dated for 1889 and 1890, edges engraved ‘Sergt. B.C. Dent’, both with original fitted cases of issue, generally good very fine or better (14) £300-400
Brigadier - General Bertie Coore Dent was born in 1872 and educated at Charterhouse and Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Leicestershire Regiment in 1892; promoted, Lieutenant, 1894, Captain, 1900; Major, 1909; Lieutenant Colonel (brevet), 1915 (Brigade Commander); Colonel, 1919. Awarded C.B., 1921; C.M.G., 1919; D.S.O., 1918; M.I.D. six times.
