Vernon Forster Stewart served with No. 16 squadron, Royal Flying Corps. He was killed in action when his plane was shot down out of control on 13 May 1917, by the German fighter ace Karl Allmenroder of Jasta 11. Sold with comprehensive research detail, including copies of reports filed by Stewart regarding three crashes involving him as Pilot, between 9 April 1917 and 3 May 1917, one of which involved a combat with enemy aeroploanes.
