Sergeant E. Nevison was dangerously wounded on 28 July 1901 at Klein Jagersfontein, and died of wounds 3 days later on 1 August. This was a small action which took place on the night of 27/28 July 1901 in which a party of men under Colonels Rochfort and Lowry Cole attacked a Boer laager, capturing 24 prisoners, including Commandant Myburg.
