Military General Service 1793-1814, 4 clasps, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, Toulouse (C. P. Wallace, Lieut. 40th Foot) nearly extremely fine £700-900

Chales Wallace was appointed Ensign in the 40th Foot in April 1812, aged 17. He was promoted to Lieutenant in August 1813, and reduced to Half-Pay, by reduction as a supernumerary Lieutenant, in February 1817. Sold with a copy of his 1829 Statement of Service for Retired Officers, which shows that he was wounded during his service in the Peninsula.
