B.E.M. London Gazette 14 June 1945: ‘On the occasion of the Celebration of His Majesty’s Birthday. No.16157 Sergeant John Jamieson Scott Balfour, Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps.’

At the time of his award, Balfour was attached to the Mechanised Warfare Experimental Establishment at Farnborough. His L.S. & G.C. medal was announced in Army Orders of April 1941. Sold with some further details including letters from former comrades.
