George Norris was born at Preston, Lancashire, in March 1860, and enlisted at Liverpool in March 1884. He served in Burma with 4 Battery 1st Brigade Lancashire Division, subsequently re-titled 20 Battery Southern Division. He was discharged at Gosport in March 1896.
