A Great War D.S.O. group of four awarded to Lieutenant Colonel G. Conder, Army Veterinary Corps

Distinguished Service Order, G.V.R., some slight enamel damage to reverse wreath, in Garrard & Co. case of issue; 1914 Star, with clasp (Major, A.V.C.); British War and Victory Medals (Lt. Col.); together with corresponding miniatures, which include additionally a Q.S.A. and K.S.A. to which he is entitled; miscellaneous metal shoulder insignia (13) obverses of trio lacquered, generally good very fine (23) £500-600

Gerald Conder served during the South African War 1899-1902, being wounded at Quaggalaagte on 27 November 1900. He took part in operations in the Orange Free State, March to May 1900; operations in the Orange River Colony, May to November 1900, including the action at Ladybrand, 2 to 5 September 1900; operations in the Cape Colony, November 1899 to March 1900; operations in the Transvaal, September to December 1901 and February to March 1902. During the Great War he served on the Staff in France and Belgium from 16 August 1914 to 11 November 1918.
