(PO/214712 Sgt., R.M.) the first group with contact marks from star, otherwise better than good fine; the second group with polishing to first two medals, therefore good fine, otherwise generally good very fine or better (12) £250-300


Ernest Joseph Butcher was promoted to Colour Sergeant on 6 February 1902.

Ernest Cecil Butcher enlisted into the Royal Marines on 10 September 1915, receiving a commission in the same regiment on 17 November 1942. Sold with detailed service histories for both recipients.
