Bolton Local Militia, a rare excavated other ranks oval cross belt plate c1808-1816, in heavy die-stamped brass the raised design displays a 12 pointed star St Edward’s crown displacing the top point, the crown with a sun-burst background, upon the star an oval with raised ‘GR’ thereon, around the top half of the rim, ‘Bolton Local Militia’, one hook and two studs to the reverse, though age darkened the plate is in very good condition and well worthy of careful cleaning £150-250
