Shooting Prize Medal Awarded to a V.C. Winner, struck in 15 carat gold, hallmarks for Birmingham 1912, 26mm, obverse with depiction of a shooting tournament, and inscribed in a scroll ‘2nd Bedford Regt.’, the reverse with wreath and inscription within ‘Transvaal Bisley 1913 “Abe Bailey Cup” won by Capt. C. C. Foss’, with double loop suspension, extremely fine £100-150

Charles Calveley Foss was awarded the Victoria Cross for an action at Neuve Chapelle on 12 March 1915, whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. He also gained the award of the D.S.O. and subsequently attained the rank of Brigadier.
