Edward Walter Jones was born at St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands, and enlisted at Newcastle-on-Tyne for the Northumberland Hussars (Imperial Yeomanry) on 19 February 1901. He was severely wounded at Rhenosterfontein on 5 September 1901, and had his left leg amputated. Sold with copy service papers.
