Lance Corporal F. Mortimer, 2nd Battalion, Grenadier Guards. Two officers and 43 other ranks of the 2nd Battalion, Grenadier Guards, were present at Abu Klea in the Guards Camel Regiment.

Frederick Mortimer was born in the parish of Jarrow on Tyne, sometime in 1856. He enlisted into the Grenadier Guards on 9 August 1880, being discharged on 8 August 1892 on completion of his first period of limited service. Sold with confirmation and seven pages of copied service papers.
