Three officers and 37 other ranks of the 16th Lancers were present at Abu Klea in the Heavy Camel Regiment.

Andrew Ritchie was born in the Parish of St Lukes, Midlothian, sometime in 1858. He enlisted into the 16th Lancers on 29 August 1882, and was discharged on 5 November 1888, having been found medically unfit for further service. Sold with confirmation and eight pages of copied service papers.
