The following obituary was published in The Journal of the Queen’s Own Hussars in April 1969: ‘Major Dick Yeomans died on May 10th, 1968, as the result of an accident at the age of 64. He enlisted in 1919 as a Band Boy and joined the 7th Hussars from the 15/9th Hussars in 1929, becoming a Troop Sergeant-Major in 1938. He was commissioned in the Middle East in 1941 and joined the Royal Engineers serving in the Movement Control Section. He retired from the Army in 1954.’
