The British cargo ship
British King foundered on 11 March 1906, about 500 miles of the American coast, whilst on a voyage from New York to Antwerp. The crew were rescued by boats from the Bostonian, amongst whom was Ordinary Seaman Charles Woods. 13 silver Sea Gallantry Medals were awarded for this rescue.
