Hammer Price:
£150

Henry VI (First reign, 1422-1461), Pinecone-Mascle issue, Groat, mm. cross IIIb on obv. only, pinecone stops, mascle after rex, pinecone after posvi and don, mascle before lon, reads civitai, 3.81g/11h (cf. Whitton 19; N 1460; S 1874). Very fine or better, toned, rare, the reverse error not included in Whitton £100-150

There seems to be a small symbol in the spandrel below the bust, as on the subsequent Leaf-Mascle issue. Unfortunately the coin is not well struck up at this point and it is hard to distinguish exactly what it is.
