Arthur Norman MacDonald was born in Barrie, Washington County, Vermont, U.S.A. on 12 April 1889. A Conductor by occupation, he attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force at Regina on 13 February 1917 and was posted to the Saskatchewan Railway Construction Company Canadian Engineers. Served in France with the Canadian Railway Troops. With copied attestation papers.
