Three: Second Lieutenant E. H. King, 6th Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, who died of wounds, France, 3 July 1916

Edmund Harold King was educated at Bradfield College. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Wiltshire Regiment on 14 January 1915 and entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 22 November 1915. Wounded at La Boiselle, 2 July 1916 and died of his wounds on the following day. Buried at the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-l’Abbe, Somme, France. He was the son of Mrs Jessie Hannah King, of 172 Oakwood Court, Kensington, London.

With a copied photograph of King’s headstone and copied m.i.c. and other research including an extract from ‘Conan Doyle’ relating to the action at La Boiselle. Medals in wooden glass-fronted frame, 19.5 x 14.5cm.
