Gunner Harold Langford, Royal Field Artillery entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 13 March 1915. Commissioned into the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on 4 October 1915. Later served in the Special Constabulary. With framed photograph of the recipient in uniform; also with copied m.i.c. and roll extract.


Gunner John Alfred Langford, (6th London) Royal Field Artillery entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 17 March 1915. Commissioned into the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on 4 October 1915. Sub-Lieutenant Langford, serving with Drake Battalion, R.N. Division, R.N.V.R., was killed in action during the battle of the Somme, on 13 November 1916, aged 24 years. He was buried in the Hamel Military Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel, Somme, France. With original (damaged) photograph of the recipient in uniform; also with copied m.i.c., roll extract and casualty details.


The two brothers were sons of John Alfred and Catherine Langford, of ‘Ribblesdale’, 204 Clive Road, Dulwich, London
