Private William Ernest Silvey, 7th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, entered the Balkan theatre of war on 19 June 1915. Later served in the 1st and 2/5th Battalions. Appointed a Temporary 2nd Lieutenant in the Gloucestershire Regiment on 30 December 1919. He relinquished his commission whilst retaining his rank on 1 September 1921.
