Albert E. Gibson was born in and enlisted at Winchester, Hampshire. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, he was killed in action in France on 20 September 1914, aged 19 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial. He was the son of Mrs Annie Gibson, of 79 Wales Street, Winchester.
