Three: Petty Officer 1st Class W. R. Brice, Royal Navy

Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1866 (A.B/ W. R. Brice, H.M.S. Fawn) engraved naming; India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Perak (W. R. Brice, P.O. 1Cl. H.M.S. “Charybdis”); Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (Wm. R. Brice, Capt. M. Top H.M.S. Charybdis) engraved naming, mounted for display, some contact marks, very fine and better (3) £850-950

William Robert Brice was born in Northam, Southampton, Hampshire on 1 January 1846. He entered the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on board Indus on 27 July 1860. Served on Fawn, June 1864-June 1868, being advanced to Able Seaman in October 1864. Appointed Leading Seaman in March 1870 when on Donegal, Petty Officer 2nd Class in January 1873 on Excellent and Petty Officer 1st Class in October 1873 when on Charybdis. Shore Pensioned in March 1881.
