Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Lucknow (H. Maguire, 34th Regt.) slight edge bruising, very fine £250-300

Hugh Maguire was born in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 34th Regiment at Preston, Lancashire on 9 August 1855, aged 20 years. With them he served 2 months in Malta, 4 months in the Crimea and 9 years, 8 months in the East Indies. Serving in the suppression of the Indian Mutiny, he was present at the defence of Cawnpore. He was discharged at Dublin on 29 August 1873 having been found unfit for further service. With copied discharge papers and roll extracts.
