Crimea 1854-56, 3 clasps, Alma, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Pte. W. Fannon, 88th Foot) contemporary engraved naming, some edge bruising and contact marks, about very fine £250-300

William Fannon was born in Rathangan, Co. Kildare. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 53rd Regiment on 30 April 1839, aged 18 years. He volunteered to serve with the St. Helena Regiment from 1 February 1842 and transferred to the 88th Regiment in April 1848. Fannon served in St. Helena for 6 years, 8 months, in North America 1 year 1 month and in Turkey and the Crimea, for 2 years, 3 months. Fannon requested his discharge with a pension on 16 May 1860. His intended place of residence stated to be Leeds, West Yorkshire. With copied discharge papers.
