Coldstream Guards 1854 Pattern Officer’s Levee Sword, 82 cm bright blade by Henry Wilkinson, London (18905) with single fuller and etched with regimental insignia and battle honours to the Crimea crowned VR cypher and the owner’s family crest and initials RPC (R.Pole-Carew), regulation steel handguard incorporating the Garter star, wire bound fish skin grip in its leather covered wooden scabbard, very good condition £300-400

Note: The sword of Lieutenant-General R.Pole-Carew C.B. who commanded the 11th Division of the South African Field Force in the Boer War, sold with part 22 of ‘With the Flag to Pretoria’.
