An 1827 Pattern Naval Officer’s Sword; and an 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword, the first with 76 cm blade by Batten & Adams, Devonport is etched with a continental crown over a fouled anchor and scrolling foliage the standard gilt brass Gothic hilt incorporates a continental crown over a fouled anchor fish skin wire bound grip in its gilt brass mounted black leather scabbard; the second with 82 cm blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London (35616) is etched with the Royal Arms of Great Britain and the VR Cypher plus scrolling foliate panels the sheet metal handguard incorporates the crowned VR Cypher, wire bound fish skin grip in its leather covered wooden Field Service scabbard, the first with some service wear to the blade and the gilt areas dull overall, the second with rust patches and lacking approximately 9 cm of the scabbard tip (2) £120-150
