71st (Highland) (Light Infantry) Officer’s Shako Badge c. 1846 - 1862, a magnificent two part example being a heavy die cast gilt coiled bugle horn with separate gilt numerals ‘71’ for the centre of the coil, the bugle horn with strong double wire original mounts the numerals with long copper lug mounts, the numerals would originally have been mounted on a gauze backing, excellent condition £400-500
