Pair: Private Thomas Webster, Gordon Highlanders, a resident of Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg, Belfast (8086 Pte. T. Webster, Gordon Highrs:) fitted with silver pin brooch as worn; Oldmeldrum Tribute Medal, silver, 45 mm, the obverse engraved ‘Presented by the inhabitants of Oldmeldrum to Pt. Thomas Webster on his return from active service in South Africa May 1901’, the reverse engraved ‘F. Coy. 2nd V.B.G.H.’, maker’s mark ‘J.C Abdn.’, fitted with rings for suspension from tartan ribbon, extremely fine and very rare (2) £1500-2000

It is recorded in the history of the Aberdeen Volunteers that Webster was wounded at Doornkop on 29 May 1900.
