Alexander Shaw was born and lived in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving in the 5th Battalion Cameron Highlanders, he died of wounds, France/Flanders, on 15 April 1918, aged 19 years and was buried in the Mendinghem Military Cemetery, West Vlaaderen, Belgium.
