Alexander Maclean was born in Aberdeen and lived and enlisted at Inverness. Serving with the 1st Battalion Cameron Highlanders, he was killed in action on 22 October 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
