The 9th (Hodson’s) Horse formed part of the 3rd (Ambala) Cavalry Brigade, 1st Indian Division, alongside the 8th Hussars, 30th (Gordon’s) Lancers and ‘A’ Battery, Royal Horse Artillery.

The 19th Lancers (Fane’s Horse) formed part of the 2nd (Sialkot) Cavalry Brigade, 1st Indian Cavalry Division, alongside the 17th Lancers, 6th King Edward’s Own Cavalry and ‘Q’ Battery, Royal Horse Artillery.
