George Watson was also awarded the Sea Gallantry Medal, in bronze, for the same rescue, namely ‘the extraordinary exertions’ enacted by the crew of the steamship Menominee in rescuing the crew of the Glendower in January 1899 - the captain of the latter vessel described the seas encountered as the worst he had ever seen; sold with further details.
