Thomas Harvey, who was born at Weston Point, Runcorn, Cheshire, was serving as Second Engineer Officer aboard the S.S. Memphian when she was torpedoed and sunk seven miles E.N.E. of the North Arklow Light Vessel - 32 members of the crew were killed, including Harvey. Aged 35 years, he left a widow, Elizabeth Hannah, and is commemorated on the Merchant Navy Memorial at Tower Hill, London; sold with brief details.
