Germany, Exposition Internationale d’Hygiene, Dresden, 1911, a bronze award plaque by P. Roger-Bloche, male bather welcoming an infant into the water from its mothers’ arms, buildings and factories behind, reverse elevation of the Expo’s French pavilion, tablet at right, un-named, 55 x 47mm (PBE –; BDM –). Very fine, reverse better, very rare; in original red fitted case (£30-50)

Medallic art by Pierre Roger-Bloche is not often seen, particularly his pre-World War I work; this is only the second pre-War piece we have handled
