France, Denys Puech, 1926, a cast uniface gilt-bronze portrait medal by L. Bazor, bust right, 116mm; together with a plaster model of the same medal, also 116mm (cf. CGMP p.31) [2]. About very fine, former with remants of glue on the back, latter with small loop mount in edge for suspension (£80-100)

Denys Pierre Puech (1854-1942), sculptor and medallist from Cavernac, was a frequent exhibitor at the Salons of the Société des Artistes Française. Later in life he became director of the Académie de France in Rome.

The struck medals of Puech by the Monnaie, utilising Bazor’s obverse, appeared in 1932. 1st only illustrated
