France, Alliance Française, 1898, a silver award medal by J.-B. Daniel Dupuis, seated female figure of France instructs a group of four young children emblematic of the colonies, ship at sea in background, reverse tablet on a book, decorated with a spray of laurel, named (M. Alfred P. Huguenet, Londres, 1903), 68mm (PBE 308; CGMP p.172; BDM I, 665; cf. DW 19, 255). Extremely fine, toned (£80-120)

Originally engraved in 1894, but not struck by the Monnaie until 1898
