Charles I (1625-1649), Sixpence, type 2, mm. lion, crowned oval garnished shield dividing crowned cr, 3.01gm (Besly 1C; SCBI Brooker –; N 2322; S 2876). King’s facial features weak (rather typical of the issue), otherwise very fine, reverse better, attractively toned, an extremely rare reverse die variant (£300-400)
