Charles I (1625-1649), Shilling, Gp. 1 [type 3], mm. lion, similar, reads hib, reverse oval garnished shield, 5.96gm (Besly 1E; SCBI Brooker 1093, same dies; N 2318; S 2872). Usual tiny die flaw above mark of value, otherwise brilliant and practically as struck with most attractive olive-grey tone (£500-700)
