ENGLAND, Magdalen College, Oxford, a silver award medal, named (Norsworthy Pairs, 1877, C.R.L. Fletcher Bow, G.R. Childs Stroke), 50mm; Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society, a silver award medal after W. Wyon, named (Warwick Brookes, for Direct Portraits, 1887), 45mm (E 1272); City & Guilds, London, an award medal, named (Photo Mechanical Process, Harry Duckworth Halstead, 1911), 50mm [3]. About extremely fine and better; first and last in cases of issue £80-100

C.R.L. Fletcher was a prominent rowing Blue; his son, R.W. Fletcher, also a Blue, was killed in action in 1914. Warwick Brookes (1843-1929) was a pioneering photographer with a studio on Oxford road, Manchester and the designer of the Academy Camera. Harry Duckworth Halstead (1868-1949) already held a patent for ‘improvements in and relating to winches for use in ageing, drying, etc’
