PPM 4 only illustrated. On 22 May 1669 the City Council resolved to order £20-worth of halfpence from London, and further orders followed on 5 July 1669 (£20-worth of halfpence), 24 July 1669 (£5-worth of farthings), 20 November 1669 (£15-worth of halfpence and £5-worth of farthings) and 15 June 1670 (£10-worth of halfpence). All the tokens were dated 1669 and it is presumed that the varieties designated PPM 1 and 2, which utilise the same letter punches for the 6s and 9s in the date, correspond to the initial two orders placed in the summer of 1669. PPM 3, with larger date numerals and other changes in the calligraphy, stands apart and might equate to one of the Council’s later orders
