William Hush was born in Hawick, Roxburghshire. Serving with the 2nd Dragoons (Scots Greys), he entered France on 17 August 1914. He died of wounds on 15 January 1916 and was buried in the Chocques Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais. He was the son of Robert and Grace Smith Hush, of 16 Duke Street, Hawick.

Corporal Robert Hush, Royal Highlanders, entered France on 20 September 1915 (Entitled to a 1914-15 Star). Later served with the A.S.C. and discharged to Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 24 April 1919.
